There is something truly special about continuing the same tile outdoors. Not only does it look great, but it also has some very relevant design qualities.
Achieving continuity is a major defining factory in any space, and is particularly relevant today when considering the movement towards the Simplicity of Design.
Continuing the same tile outdoors is undisruptive and works to maintain flow throughout the space. It gives an area a sense of grandeur and provides an outlet through which the internal and external design elements can be linked.
When considering a tile for a new space, it is often worth looking for a tile ‘series’ that offers an internal/external counterpart, and is available in a range of colours. This is important for two reasons. Firstly, being from the same series, the grout lines are more likely to match up from inside to outside (depending on the tile size), thereby maintaining flow. Secondly, by having other colours available in the range, there is the option to highlight a particular area whilst remaining confident that the looks and colour tones will still complement one another.
